Philippines Under President Duterte's Administration

PUBLIC leaders are far from being perfect. Their image has been tainted by a lot of corrupt politicians who have used the public's money and their power for their personal interests. Sometimes, they tend to be generalized by the people. No one can blame us for thinking that they're all the same. We've believed them and given them chances multiple times and they have failed us repeatedly. Maybe we're just fed-up and tired of believing in their glittery words during the campaign period. But there's one leader that has really captured my attention and even the foreigners. Yes, I'm talking about President Rodrigo Duterte. He was known for his strong personality and his effective leadership in Davao which was considered as one of the safest cities in the world.
The public has asked him to run for president because they believed in his capabilities to run the country. He won and our country met a new kind of leadership. He was faced by a lot of criticisms and up until now, critics won't stop pointing out his mistakes. Even the foreign media has featured him a lot of times. His fight against drug has been very controversial which resulted in a lot of killings in our country. His stand on our issues against China has also been criticised by his opponents. People has a lot to say on social media regarding their point of view of our president. Suddenly, everyone seems to be a political analyst. Everyone wants to share their piece on everything our president does.
Amidst the criticisms, President Duterte has done a lot for our country. His strong leadership has indeed helped the drug problems in our country no matter how much people criticized it. Public employees are more corteous and hardworking now because of his strict administration. He wanted the taxpayers to actually enjoy their contributions by providing us with good government services. He has done a lot of things in terms of national security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, etc. According to reports, our country's economy is growing under his administration and that is something we should be thankful for. We're still far from being a progressive nation but it's only fair that we appreciate the results of our president's efforts.
He is like a father who would do anything to protect his children fiercely. His passion and dedication is truly impressive. His words can be foul at certain times and his jokes can be offensive at some point. But, personally, I think that doesn't make him a bad person. He is a human being capable of making mistakes but at least he's trying to shake things in our country. The results are evident and no amount of bashing can change the fact that President Duterte changed the game in our country's political world. He's not the typical leader that we're used to having. He will not bend his knees on other countries. He has his own principles and he's not afraid to take risks and make compromises.
He is not perfect but he's an excellent leader. Let us give him a chance to lead our country and I'm sure he won't disappoint us.

I don't like most of his candid words and some of his actions, but if I would to vote again - he will still be my choice. I can't see any other candidate that has his love for the country.
I think all of us hate that from the President. I think its the by product of having an iron fist personality. People have downsides, the President has too. I never met an amazing President like him that does a lot of great things.
