Thinking about Strawberries 🍓🍓🍓

in #philippines8 years ago (edited)

This post is for all the sweet tooths out there! I always love sweets but not only limited to strawberry jam,  mango jam and ube jam. 🍓

Another dream place that I like to visit someday is Baguio  city, this place is also known as the coldest city in the Philippines which  is also perfect  for  growing strawberries. There are Strawberry farms located in the valleys of La Trinidad where you can pick your own fresh strawberries for 450 Php per kilo (the price may also change depending on the time you go there). Yet this is way more economical compare to strawberries we can buy at the grocery shops and mostly it's not as sweet as the freshly picked strawberries in Baguio. I wish I will have a chance to go there oneday and grab my own strawberries and make my own home made strawberry jam. =)

I guess the strawberry and mongo jam in the Philippines must be wonderful. But I don't know what ube jam is.

@ginafraser Yes, I can imagine you will love the mango and strawberry jam in PH too. Ube or Purple Yam in English is another kind of root crop like the sweet potato. To make ube jam you have to broil the ube just how you do with mashed potatoes, then mix it with sweetened milk and a little butter, there you have your own ube jam!
