Was having goose-bumps while watching this video wow! This is a great news not only for Filipinos in the Philippines, but all around the globe. There's not a time that each Filipino when going home, one start to worry from the airport itself.
Here are some issues before President Duterte came into office:
The worry of being holdapped or carnapped after getting out from the airport. The advise is to get a taxi inside the airport, in the waiting area. You will be given a fare amount, and once agreed, a receipt will be given right at the airport. The price is slightly higher compared from that hailed just outside the terminal but way safer. I dont recommend this if you dont know the area where you're going. A little tip will be very appreciated, a dollar or $2 is enough.
When walking about around Metro Manila, holdappers know on who to victimised. Even for us Filipinos, we rarely use our mobile phones in crowded public areas, not unless they are cheap ones and you can afford to lose it.
Jewelries I just dont wear any. Call me the poorest of all Filipinos working abroad. Even earrings are grabbed, watches too if they look expensive. A neighbour of ours was robbed of his shirt and shoes no kidding! His mom almost had a heart attack upon hearing about the news!!
Wallet Here it gets interesting. Pick-pockets abound. Bags are slashed, slings are cut, anything is possible! So what to do? Carry debit/credit cards, use at the mall to get cash and pay bills. Don't let them find all your cash in your wallet.
Foreigners Friends visiting the Philippines I always say,"Don't stay too far from your group", more often you're targetted when alone by kidnappers. To them you're easy money. And women most of all, there's no guarantee they won't touched you and when they do, for them, you're better off dead than be persecuted.
Laglag-bala Gang (planted-bullet)
At the airport, while going through the X-ray machine for your luggage, can you imagine finding a BULLET in your luggage?? Yeah it's happening. The story is that, either the taxi-driver or the X-ray personnel have planted the bullet. How it happened, please use your imagination. Accordingly, some taxi-drivers are in cahoots with the airport personnels. And those victimised, will just pay money so as not to miss their planes. The solution was to cover the luggages and personal bags with see-through plastic bags before travelling. That's what I was doing till I went home this year. There's no facility like that in the Philippines compared to some airports.
These things are more rampant in Manila. It affects all that's travelling in the Philippines, not just Filipinos. Am sure this kind of news is welcome to all. Maybe now our President Duterte will get more support, not only from Filipinos who are in doubt of his war on drugs effort, but also from around the world who are not aware of how the criminality in the Philippines have gotten out of hand.
80% huh?
That would be great if it's true, wouldnt it? that is something we Filipinos are praying and waiting for, maybe the world too perhaps? A great accomplishment in 5 months since becoming a president, wouldnt you think?
100% would be perfect. And yes, it would be an outstanding accomplishment for any standing president.
Peace must be achieved before a country can progressed I read that somewhere.Maybe not 100%..but its a start.
