An art enthusiast? Go check this out! A village full of wondrous art at Tam-awan (a local word which means "vintage point"). This village was situated in Proper Pinsao, Baguio City. You'll surely fascinated by the artistic designs from the outside till the inside.

You'll be magnetized by the exceptional paintings that was beautifully hanging on the wall as this is the first stop we visited. The craftsmanship was uniquely blended with indigenous aesthetics ( Igorot cultures)

This picture says it all.
A gorgeous Igorot young lady (proud to be one) Wearing our traditional native costume walking with a blocks of pot on top of her head. One of our amazing talent!

On the upper left side of this picture you'll see people gathered in one area wearing native costumes dancing cultural dance using indigenous instruments like gangza (gongs). We Igorots dance this not for a show because their are deeper and different meanings of every dance movement like courtship. Additionally, it is one of our biggest way of giving thanks to the gods for blessing us abundantly. I hope that this culture must be preserved and it should be highly valued.

Another painting portraying native men and women. Those fantastic masterpieces are safely decorated inside the little neppa hut which you need to take off your shoes before entering.

We continue exploring the village up to the wonderful hill. Since it was gloomy and raining that day, the narrow paths are slippery and wet, so we need to be really careful in our steps. Along the way, you'll see an Ifugao and Kalinga inspiwetred nepa huts! This huts are not only for your sight but you can booked for a space for you to stay.

It was actually an amazing experience in Tam-awan village. We used a private car of a good friend to get there. If you desire to visit the place you may also ride a jeepney or taxi cab. At the entrance you need to compensate a fee in an amount of P50 for adults and P30 for students. Then they will give you a piece of the map of the hill and you'll roam around without a tour guide. The narrow paths are a little tricky, but it was exciting and enjoyable.
