RECOGNIZE FEELINGS OF GUILT AND SHAMES ARE UNFAVORABLE.
If you’re feeling unreasonably at fault or full of shame, remind yourself that you’re being overly self-critical. No one deserves to feel weighed down by guilt and shame, and this thoughts will only make things worse.
LEARN TO FORGIVE AND ACCEPT LIMITATIONS.
Tell yourself that you can either continue to feel guilty about every mistake you made or you can choose acceptance and forgiveness. With your compulsive thinking, the memories of the past will always break in, accept that you’re human, you’re not perfect and it’s okay.
STOP ENGAGING WITH THE THOUGHTS WHICH YOU CANNOT CHANGE ANYMORE.
Consider your mistakes and shortcomings as constructive criticisms. Remember that excessive feelings of guilt can be detrimental to your health.
