Our Thursday Adventure

Good day everyone.

It was lovely afternoon last Thursday when we went for a stroll to Abu Dhabi Street Fest. I was excited when I saw this ad on the net and immediately called my wife that we can go there after her work shift. I am on local leave for a month and I am assigned to take care of our son to save a month’s nanny fee. We waited for my wife at her work and we headed directedly to the street fest.

Upon entering, we were greeted with an open stage where you can comfortably sit at the bean bags they provided while watching the bands perform.

Walking further, we can smell the food that is being served from the food carts. The first cart is selling potato in sticks. The second is selling burgers. Actually, most of the food carts sell burgers, another one is Indian cuisine. I was expecting of Filipino street food to be available but there wasn’t any. Hahaha!

Taking a right turn would direct you to this man selling toys and bubbles for kids. Luckily my son didn’t ask us to buy it. He enjoyed watching colorful carts and rides and didn't notice the man who was trying to tempt him by blowing some bubbles on the air. Also, there is a tent in the street fest provided for the prayer room. This is for males only. Our Muslim brothers and sisters have a separate prayer room for men and women.

With us were my cousin and her boyfriend who takes his rest day every week at our flat. He is assigned 4 hours from Abu Dhabi where my cousin is working. Sometimes, he takes care of our son on Saturdays if we are at work. This is one of few occasions that they came with us together. Usually, my cousin's boyfriend is the one who comes with us on our rest days’ activities because she only got 2 days offs a month.
