A new project - Stamp of the day!#1

in #philately7 years ago

With this post i want to start to show you my collection of stamps and how philately can be such an amazing and educational hobby. A simple definition for philately is the study of stamps and postal history and other related items but it also refers to the collection, appreciation and research activities on stamps and other philatelic products. Why i mention it is an educational hobby... well because there is absolutely no area that philately doesn't cover and with each series we can learn so much.
Since i have an impressive collection i will add the stamps as i have them in my binders, series after series!
So the stamp series for today is:

Stamp2.png

The name of the series is: Romanian Postmark Day
As you can see the series have one sheet of stamp witch is in the first photo and 2 classical stamps as the first one from the second photo is what is called a Se-tenant (witch means the stamps are unseparated or joined together).
The year of release is 1983 and the series is a photogravure, designed as you can see from the photos by Aurel Popescu.
The sheet of stamp (first photo) have a format of 78/90 mm with the postmark 43/54 and have been released in 200000 units. It shows a part of the international airport from Bucharest (that time called Otopeni), one Rombac 1.11 airplane and one small airport car for merchandise. On the sides is the logo of Romanian Postmark, one leaf of oak and the text: 125 years since the first Romanian stamp was released.
The stamps from second photo have been released in 120000 units and shows one mailman on bicycle with one Romanian post office in the background and the Se-tenant have the Romanian flag on one of the stamp and the head of a aurochs with a bugle!
As well you can see in the first photo that the sheet of stamp is marked with 10L and in the second photo are marked with 3.5L, 3L and 1L. This is the value of the stamps that time as L is the shortcut of LEU which was the Romanian currency that time.

Since i have a massive collection of stamps and by this i mean everything that was released from 1900 till present and few older then 1900 and this is the first blog from a long long project please let me know what should i change or what should i add as all the feedback is more then welcome!
If you feel my posts are undervalued or you want to donate to tip me i would really appreciate it very much!!!
