Free Store

One of the amazing things that happens in Portland OR is the Occupy Free Store!

Much like block chain this free store is autonomously driven. Once a month this room is open for three hours and filled with free treasures to discover. I have not bought clothes the past five years because of this store! Anyone and everyone brings their old stuff to donate. Such as this wonderful hat!

Often people find themselves having to abruptly move in these larger pacific northwest cities because of no cause evictions. People in evictions have a month to move and drop off there belongings to one of the regular free store attendees. The grace is, once individuals find a new place to live much of what they had to let go of is then restored from the next free store shopping experience!

It began with one person being willing to be present throughout the duration of the event and being willing to keep there home available for donations.
I hope this inspired you to initiate a free store in your area!
