New Perspective Development (NPD)
Givers and Givettes,
As we bring in the holidays, I want to draw focus to a non profit that is doing great work in the community, and looking for growth opportunities, so that the mission can expand to more people, and affect more lives.
NEW PERSPECTIVE DEVELOPMENT
New Perspective Development is a Houston Texas based, US 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization created with the vision of developing socio-economic equality in underprivileged communities. This is achieved through collaboration, teaching, information sessions, hosting of various programs, workshops, and community services, all with the goal of giving those who are underprivileged the resources, and tools to succeed in an increasingly competitive, and global society.
Unique programs and opportunities:
Weekly Black Friday Event:
This event focuses on the contributions of black owned and operated businesses to their local and extended communities, and highlights their unique products and services by sharing, posting, and exposing their social media, e-commerce sites, local business information, and products and service offerings. This is done on a weekly basis, and can be followed on Instagram using the hashtag #BlackFriday
Youth Mentoring:
NPD visits schools locally in Houston, and in Texas, and gives mentoring sessions and presentations aimed at providing information and guidance around these key areas:
- Life skills such as character, hard work, and persistence
- Career advice, current and future
- Workshops to teach collaboration, team work, and group unity and solidarity
Homelessness Initiatives:
Every year NPD hosts several homeless initiatives. This year NPD committed their time and energy to feeding the homeless in the Houston Area, giving out over 300 plates of food! They are committed to this task, and will continue to expand and grow the program.
