Ships Upside Down? Flying Ships?

As @sintfisk and I was going out fishing in the ocean we got to experience this mirage happening on the horizon line, ships upside down.
This phenomenon also knows as a superior mirage is happening when the air below the line of sight is colder than the air above it, making it invert and stretch up in the sky, almost looking like the ship is sailing upside down.
We were not the only ones watching this phenomenon happening, all of a sudden people came from all over and filled the harbor to watch this phenomenon.

Madla or Madland? Is it actually a place in Norway called Madland? Is it a mad land? :P
There is manny strange names of place sure(like lattervika), just wondering.
But yes these are interesting effects. Light refraction can make manny strange illusions.
