This is my entry into this month’s PHC Top 3 contest.

This months topic is 'Movie Tunes'

NoNominationMy Reasons for the Nomination
1'Final Moments' by David Hobson & Lydia Denker (From 'One Perfect Day')The Australian, undervalued film 'One Perfect Day (The Ultimate Dace Movie)' became one of my all time favorite films from the first time that i watched it. The makers managed to capture the vibe of the psytrance scene perfectly, and watching the film felt like coming home.

The soundtrack contains a lot of good songs (like 'Lamb' by Gorecki), but 'Final Moments' is the one that keeps giving me goosebumps every time I hear it.

The song contains so many different elements it is almost unbelievable. The combination of the classical violin and the fragile voice of the singer is of such uncomplicated beauty... One by one, more layers are added to the track, turning it into a dance/trance song.

It's hard to explain, you'll need to watch the video below to hear for yourself, because it's mainly the combination between the music and the footage that makes this one so amazing.
(I don't know if it will have the same impact if you haven't watched the full movie, but for me, this is one of the most beautiful movie tunes I ever heard.)

2'Lady Marmelade' by Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya, Pink (From ' Moulin Rouge')These ladies have pimped this song big time. They made it more powerful, naughtier and turned it into an iconic girl power anthem.

I love the combination of each singer's distinctive styles, which adds loads of variation to the song.

3'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen (From ' Wayne's World')
Although I've never been a real Queen-fan, this song is one of the few I really like. There's such a truckload of variation in the song that I can't do anything but admire it. This song touches so many different styles (from power ballad to opera to hard rock and back), and all of that in no more than 6 minutes. It has always been one of my favorite power-songs.

But in 1992, 'Wayne's World' was released, and ever since I can't detach the music from the film scene anymore. It's a bit of a shame, but hilarious at the same time. Thanks to Mike Myers, Bohemian Rhapsody will never be the same again.
(You can watch the film scene below. Warning: it will completely destroy how you feel about the song... Once you've seen it, there's no turning back, lol.)

Another awesome trio of choices! I haven't seen the first movie or heard that track, but I can see why you enjoy it. I love the singer's voice. Really cool to get exposed to new things. Lady Marmalade is totally iconic with all of those power house ladies. Killer pick. And you beat me to the punch with Bohemian Rhapsody! I still love the song, but that scene is the perfect start to that movie. Garth not knowing the words, Mike Myers totally rocking out, the dudes squeezed in the back--so much fun! A pleasure to have you join in with us this round!

I'm glad I finally managed to get a post up. I have a tendency to notice the PHC contests on the last day, so there is no time to write anymore.

I thought this would be an easy one to do, but after the first one, there were so many songs to choose from. The post took me 3 hours, because I simply couldn't decide, lol.

Now I'm glad that I did go for Bohemian Rhapsody. I hadn't seen that video for years.... :0)

I feel you on the contests! I often see one and think it would be fun to enter, then by the time I look again they are announcing the winners, haha! Well I'm glad you caught this one for a change!

Lol, happens all the time. I was still thinking about my entry for the @ifc contest when I noticed two new rounds had been announced alredy. Same for the PHC contests. First time I made it in time :0)

Great choices @simplymike

The first track is definitely a new one for me but I totally agree, class track. Very cool and a little emotional too.

Moulin Rouge has a ton of cracking tracks and this one is no exception. I'm a bit of a Pink fan, on the quiet! 😁

I am actually ashamed that I didn't include Wayne's World in my top 3. This movie was a favourite of our group of friends at the time; including my, now, wife, that has stayed very personal me. I am a Queen fan too so a no-brainer. Iconic scene. I showed my daughter the movie the other day and she hated it!! I guess it has not aged so well. :(

Great entry! I really appreciate these choices. Best of luck with the contest.

Thanks.
During the past years, I learned that Wayne's World is one of those movies you either like or hate. There is no in between. Same goes for Austin Powers. You love it, or you detest it.

That scene is so hilarious, but in a way it has ruined the beauty of the song for me.when I hear it, it automatically triggers the rerun of that scene in my head, lol.

Glad to hear you like the first one. It's actually a very emotional moment in the film too.

When I saw what the topic of the contes was, I instantly knew I wanted to share that song (although there are more great ones in the fim, I was going back and forth about which one to choose. But the other two... it took me more than 2 hours to decide which ones to pick.
In the end, I'm pretty happy with my final decision, but it definitely wasn't easy.

Seal's 'Kiss From A Rose', 'Knocking On Heaven's Door' by Guns N Roses, Eric Clapton's 'Tears In Heaven', Bruce Springsteen's 'The Streets Of Philadelphia', Coolio's 'Gangsta's Paradise... and so many more...

T had expected it would be a quick post, but it took me 3 hours to get it up, lol, simply because I couldn't make up my mind :0)

Nice one @simplymike

That is the beauty of the contest. As much or as little as you want. I know what you mean though. You get so into it and the choices mean a lot personally that it is impossible to take lightly. You can see that you have taken a lot of care with yours.

I love all the alternate choices too. I listen to a bit of Seal every now and again and GnR are a must on my playlist.

Awesome job mate. Good luck with the contest.

I'm 100% sure that there will be a couple of times during the next couple of weeks that I'll be watching an will think:"Oh no, I forgot all about that song!", lol.
The first one was a no brainer, but the other ones I had to look up, because I couldn't think of any.
The only other one that came to mind was 'Juice' by GMS, which you can hear in the movie 'Man On Fire' when the lead players arrive on a rave party.
But I didn't want to push 2 (psy)trance songs down your throat, lol.

Btw, in this song, 'Juice', a sample from the awesome movie 'Requiem For A Dream' is used...

A new one for me but I like (Juice) It's a cool track. I've been known to like a bit of Prodigy, Faithless, Pendulum, Rudimental and even a bit of @nickyhavey 😁

It's a funny thing but everyday since I gave my nominations I have been coming up with tracks that I should have used. *headslap I guess that's the thing with this topic. It was always going to be wide open.

True... Meanwhile, I thought of a couple of other ones too; Maybe they should do a re-run in a couple of weeks, lol.
It is always so hard when there's a limit of 2 or 3, while there are dozens you like. I don't like decisions, lol. not very good at it either.

lol. We could say that you can have more nominations but the voting list would be huge. It is hard task, no doubt.

One of the latest entries has made me headslap because i've missed one. Oh well. Like you mentioned maybe we can come back to this one in the future.

I watched Wayne's World in VHS back then lol. I'm still cracking up and I think it's time for my kids to see the movie.

Lol. I think I have the VHS lying around somewhere, even though I don't have a device that can play the tapes anymore :0D

Wow that first track has a mix of everything and it awesomely made! I enjoyed it.
Loved the song Moulin Rouge when it first came out and I still do! Those girls got it going on!
Bohemian Rhapsody is an all time classic and will be a favorite forever.
Love the choices and well done with your post!
