Since then, the breed has grown enormously in popularity and is now one of the most popular pedigree breeds in the world as a pet, as well as the favorite dog breed for many fields, such as grazing and especially the police. They are widely used for security purposes due to their strong protective instincts.
I currently have 2 German shepherds and I can attest to the characteristics of these dogs.

The shepherd has always been seen as a working dog, protector, guardian and it is like that. but it can also be a family dog. As a family dog, however, it should also be treated properly, for example, you should exercise regularly and be able to access ample outdoor spaces. If we want our German shepherd to be happy we must make sure that he exercises regularly, nothing better than to take him out for a walk in ample spaces, go out with him or keep him in a farm with enough space to run.
We mainly raise them in both family and work areas, I think it is the best thing for their upbringing to maintain contact and love with their owners but also to teach them that they have to work, besides they have a lot of energy every day.
