To Our 12 Year Companion
We had to put Elsa, out 12 year old German Shepherd to sleep. She had been a constant companion to my kids for the bulk of their lives.
She spent the majority of her life comfy on her leather couch.
Whether it was Higgens, Hound, Wolfel, or a hundred other names Ben invented and used for her, she will be missed.

I was so sorry when I heard the hound was failing. I could tell how much she meant to you and the kids just by the warm way you talked about her or said her name.
Sharing her story, or any part of her makes me feel like I knew her. Our pets bring so much joy to our soul and become part of the family.
I know it is a sad day in the family today and for that I am sorry. Just know that I am thinking of you and the kids right now.

So sorry for your loss. Pets are such a huge part of our lives and when they need to go it leaves a big gaping hole in our hearts.
It is never, ever an easy thing to go through; and often words of comfort just seem trite when compared to the pain of loss so I won't add anything except that you have my commiserations on the passing of Elsa.
Brother, I'm so sorry to hear this. Dogs are a great gift in our life. Such companionship. My deepest sympathies to you. We put our 10 year old Chihuahua down 3 years ago. I still miss that dude. We had a German Shepherd when we were kids, because my dad raised the puppies for the police department here. Her name was Sadie. German Shepherds are such good dogs. And you're so smart. I know that she will be missed. Do you guys have other puppies. Well, again I'm sorry for your loss. Here's a picture of each one of my dog's I have now. I read them your story and they seemed to empathize with you.(it probably didn't help that I was crying)They went from upbeat to this. And that's why I love dogs. I believe they can feel/sense our emotions.

Her ears aren't chopped either? They are both so beautiful...and handsome. How old is she? Is your boy fixed? I've been looking for a boyfriend for her. Her name is Evil by the way. My 4 year old at the time named her. The pits name is Duke. He's our snuggle hound. He's older,8, so a lot more laid back. She's 3 and I don't think she realizes she has to grow up some day....she likes to eat stuff. Like everything. I have an example on my site, under the post my hobby, it's a book she really enjoyed.
