I think rescue dogs tend to be very attached to the owner and extremly loyal. My girlfriend has a rescue dog called Edo, she found him wandering the streets and tried to find the owner. After she learned that his previous owners kept him on a chain (on which he almost chocked to death, neighbour rescued him) and neglected him, she adopted Edo. He's a very happy pup now.
