The quickest typhoon in Hong Kong history

We were taken by surprise this morning when the Hong Kong Observatory issued a warning that a typhoon (like a hurricane) was coming directly towards us, and that all ferries would stop, shops close and basically everything grind to a halt as the wind picked up. Events had to be cancelled, including my regular Sunday afternoon Puppy Adoption party, the only day of the week when all puppies get together in one place to be seen - and hopefully taken home.

It's now just before 2pm, the time when the Puppy Afternoon was scheduled to start, and the typhoon has already passed Hong Kong and warnings have been taken down. I feel cheated!
