ADOPT UNWANTED AND ABANDONED PETS ; DO NOT SHOP
There are plenty of pet shops here in the Philippines. Most of which are selling different kinds of pets - usually cats and dogs of different breeds. These breeds are usually those that you can buy for a very expensive price especially when it comes with paper. But do you ever think about how this business works?
Plenty of dogs and cats are forced to breed and reproduce to become a source of income. Some are even maltreated and some are living inside an awful place, serving their purpose for the rest of their lives. While some breeders may be gentle to these pets, they are still contributing to the overpopulation problem of these animals.
Everytime you purchase a puppy or a kitten from a pet store, all they have to do is replace it. It's a never-ending cycle.
Why would you spend money on this when there are a lot of abandoned dogs and cats that are seeking for a home and for a family they can call their own? These dogs and cats need our love and care.
Last week, my uncle brought us Bella. She has a Siberian husky blood but she doesn't seem like a pure one. (We'll probably know her exact breed when we bring her to our pets' long time veterenarian.) Bella is a one-year old dog owned by my uncle's neighbor, but since her owner would fly to abroad and reside there for good, he do not want to leave Bella just like that. He wants to leave Bella in good and loving hands and so he asked helped from my uncle to find Bella a new family. When my uncle brought us Bella, we didn't think twice. We accepted her right away. She's such a sweet and loving dog and we just can't resist her charm!
Now she's running freely at our garden with her new friend and our old dog Mishka. We have a spacious "apartment" for each of them to keep them safe from heat and rain. We let them
out almost all day and we only lock them whenever the house helper is cleaning. They still have a love-hate relationship as of now but I know someday they'll be the best of friends! ❤

That mentality of like buying branded one than generics. True animal lovers, doesn't choose what to take care and save animal astray.
i definitely agree with you. wala naman yan sa breed. all dogs and cats are capable of loving despite their breeds
I love it when people do this! It is not just selfish purchasing a pet, but really finding one who need some care! That kind of people mostly have a golden heart ♥

Hi, your dogs are really cuuuute (and they look obedient too!) Im kinda wary of adopting specially kasi may requirements sila and the dog might have behavioral issues. Pero pag may kakilala na namigay edi go! Haha, especially pag puppies pa. Now 1 dog lang kami kasi we can only manage 1. Wish I could adopt stray dogs na nakikita ko but Im scared and from budget constraints. There are reputable breeders naman who don't run puppy mills. Just get from them if you're keen on a certain breed. Sensya mahaba hehe!
Oh they are obedient. makulit lang minsan. we also have 3 more dogs haha. those are obedient only when we are looking. Hahaha. 😂 based sa mga napapanuod ko sa fb, yung ibang nagaadopt, it takes really time sa ibang dogs para mapalapit loob nla sayo whileas there are also dogs na pagkakita plang sayo gusto ka na agad (like bella). it really varies. haha. yes, i suggest to go get from reputable breeders if may certain breed ka talaga na gusto. thanks ❤

I agree sis! I grew up with a lot of furry friends because my mom loves dogs. We can't have them yet kasi may asthma si Sam, siguro pag laki-laki na nya we'll adopt one. =)
same with my parents sis. since the day that we had our first dog, sobrang naging mapagmahal sila sa dogs and cats. I'm sure sam will make good friends with dogs! ❤
