Fasting for Dummies Day 2steemCreated with Sketch.

Day 2! It's already here and the fast has come and went!

I probably got about 30 hours into it and then I started to get very concerned with what the rest of my family was going to have for dinner.

That was a big factor; I wanted it to be a big factor. I didn't want to think about all the pressing issues in my own life at the time.

It's a nice distraction; fasting and other all-encompassing activities like it. I'm a huge fan all too often, because, it gets me mentally distanced from what's most important.

I'm eating a nice big bowl full of frozen blueberries and cool whip as I pound my keys tonight! I started this and ended it with the same breadth of thoughts. It's all that sugar brain behavior. What the hell is going on with Jeffrey Epstein?
Why is there this picture out there? I'm probably not "woke enough.

I'm getting kicked out of my rental tomorrow; I've got a relatively small pool of options available to me. . . HOPE I can pull off something special; probably not going to be able to do anything miraculous, but, at least keep a roof over the families head. I'm about to file some FIAT bankruptcy for the first time in the next couple weeks.

Anyways. The second day of a water fast is probably the most fascinating. I can feel the electric wave of impulsivity course through my body all day long. It doesn't take much to trigger it. Unfortunately, fighting the powerful urges and temptations in this world keep them in your life. Providing these impulsive behaviors with such a bounty in my headspace is why they always "win". It's a way to give life to ideas and treat them like a more traditional organism. Providing your thoughts with all the proper nutrients and environment to thrive.

So next time I do this I'll plan the starting day out in advance and attempt this from a much more long-term conscientious place inside. Started rooting around for those ideas which have been desperately trying to make their way to the light for years and breathe life into them.

My greek landlord (I'm also greek) reminded me of an old country expression: "Don't Trust a Greek"

I'll remember this when I'm giving myself another pep talk. Maybe I can't be trusted.

Next attempt at an extended fast will start on September 3rd; If I'm homeless I'll start it a little sooner.
