To be really great you have to redefine what greatness is. That's what all legendary athletes, scientists and writers have done... They went "all in" on what they loved and where they had their passion. They didn't focus too much on beating others or win over others, they gave 100% to be better then themselves. So start competing with yourself and not others, be a better you today, be the best you.
