It's raining frogs!
Somewhere in Texas...
On a long stretch of empty highway...
On a hot summer afternoon...
Sometime in the 1950s...
My grandpa and grandpa were traveling from New Mexico to visit family in Memphis.
“Looks like rain ahead,” remarked Grandma Averille.
“Yeah, might slow us down a bit.” replied Grandpa James.
But what the found was far more than a summer thunderstorm.
About 20 miles further down the road, it started raining... FROGS!
Yep, both Grandma and Grandpa told this story many times.
That hot summer afternoon, thousands of tiny amphibians began pelting the windshield of their old Buick!

Can you imagine? Better not to even try.
This, however, is not a totally unheard of phenomenon. In fact, in the first century the Roman scientist Pliny the Elder wrote about both raining frogs and fish!
