It's not sado...

Today I'd like to share with you something I've been learning.

You see, over the last few months I've become acquainted with a whole new market.

This market has a very peculiar culture. It lies on the fringe of “normal society” and obeys some really quirky counter-culture tenets.

No, it's not some sado-masochistic, kinky stuff!

It's the cryptocurrency realm.

You know - bitcoins, ethereum, ICOs, etc.

This is a part of online universe that has developed a strong sense of community based on some kind of kookie ideas. Half libertarian, half communist combined with a dash of anarchist/survivalist thrown in to boot!

So, why am I sharing this with you?

Because, one of the most important tasks you MUST accomplish if you want your marketing to be successful is to UNDERSTAND your audience. You can't just have a few preconceived ideas. You can't just learn a bit of jargon.

No, you really need to feel the pain points that are hurting them. You need to grasp the motivations that have gotten them to where they are. And you have to be able to be a part of their community.

Otherwise, you'll always be an outsider trying to give them the squeeze.

And believe me, it doesn't work.

Unless you put in the time and effort to really comprehend the culture, values and quirks of your target audience, you can't hope to provide them with solutions that actually mean something.

Don't forget, great marketing is about helping THEM solve THEIR problems.
