Grow a food forest with minimal effort

in #permaculture8 years ago

In these uncertain times we need to establish our own food source. I realised this when we had some floods here in Australia and the fresh fruit and veg shelves became empty for weeks.

Furthermore the nutrients found in organic permaculture style foods are up to 10 times more potent than your store bought foods.

Come and join me for the ride and maybe start your own forest as well.

Growing your own food and medicine allows us to free ourselves from the enslavement created through the public/private healthcare system and is a guarantee we will have food in the event of the inevitable future monetary collapse.

Have Fun

Hey Jack thanks for the post. Do you have any recommendations for replacing a yard with a perennial herb? I live in zone 7 lots of rain 2/3rds of the year here in southern oregon. Regards.

Hey Dude, I think your best starting off with Geraniums, French Sorrel and Echinacea as perennial herbs. However it is more beneficial if you wish to grow food in your backyard to use annuals like Rocket etc, allow them to seed then spread the crop the next season to create a larger coverage. Also biennials such as Parsley and Chicory are frost resistant and should grow well where you live also. I hope this helps.
