The perfume

Hi friends, at this time of festivities and gifts, there are tons of advertisements on perfumes because I guess it is one of the gifts that comes back most often under the tree when we have no other more original ideas. In addition, a perfume is always a pleasure to offer and to receive.

While going to buy a birthday present some time ago, a perfume of course, for my sister-in-law, I received samples to test them. Me who does not follow too "chemical" perfumes and prefers natural perfumes in organic stores, I flashed on the perfume "Gabrielle" of Chanel.

I then subtly sent the photo by whats sample app to my husband in case he was out of inspiration for my Christmas present. Malin tell me, o)

I did this by experience because my husband is never shopping and so last year he had kindly offered me a perfume of the brand of the store where he had been that the saleswoman him had strongly suggested but not knowing if I was going to like the smell. Luck for him it was ok but it is true that there are scents of perfumes that give us quite quickly nausea is not it?

I then wondered why I love this one and another gives me nausea or attacks my nostrils? Answer, it's what's inside that makes the difference, sometimes it's more floral, musky, woody, fruity, aquatic, ... and sometimes it smells the scent that stung like some grandmothers of the old times were putting, ...

Making a perfume

The people who create the perfumes are called noses . They are professionals of the smell.
Some perfumers can memorize up to 5000 different smells, it's amazing! But there are very few, there are only thirty or so luxury fragrance designers around the world.

A fragrance is composed of three olfactory notes: the top note, the heart note and the base note.
The nose assembles these three notes in order to create a balance of scents, there will be more volatile ones that will leave quickly and those that will stay longer on the skin or on the fabric.

This is the most delicate phase and the longest in the creation of a perfume, if it is missed, nothing serves to continue, unless ending up with a stink ball.
To do this, the nose uses essences extracted from natural raw materials, most often flowers followed by fruits and woody species such as musk.

There are different types of fragrances that vary depending on the concentration of the essences that compose it.

There is eau de parfum, eau de toilette and eau de Cologne. It is the eau de parfum which has the highest concentration of essences. Then it is the eau de toilette and finally the cologne.

Legend

There is a legend which says that if we smell our perfume on us it is because it does not suit us. This is not true but it simply means that if we do not feel it a lot it is because we are used to smell and it goes well with our skin. Indeed, some perfumes will not have the same smell in.
