There is a study on the effect of the language used on eyewitness testimony. In this study, people watch the records that contain car accidents and ask the speed of the vehicle using different question shapes.

When they ask a group to estimate the speed at which the cars break down, another group wants cars to predict their speed when they collide, while others want them to predict the speed at which cars hit each other, and so they use different question words.

And they realize that the estimated speed is changing according to the words used. For example, the group asked the question with the word smashed, hit with the word is faster than the group asked questions.
