20-year old Robert Wadlow, the world's tallest human being, standing with his father, 1938.

At 8'11" (2,72m) he was the tallest man in history. His shoe was a whopping size 37 and cost $100.00 a pair in 1936.

Robert passed away in 1940 at the age of 22 at a weight of 490pounds.

He was known as the gentle giant!
