Is John McAfee considered an expert in cryptocurrency? Why do people follow his crypto advice?
✎ Source: My Quora answer. He is a very smart dude with great achievements, nobody can argue that. That gives him a lot of credibility. Also, that he speaks very clearly and without restrictions, he is very honest. In regards to cryptocurrencies, he is an expert because he owns bitcoin mining operations and that also gives him the experience needed to give opinions. Some people don’t like him because he is TOO honest and blunt but that is what I like about him actually.

I think what people like the least about John Mcafee is his directness. I think that's one of his biggest qualities actually, he tells it like it is and he shuts people up many times by omitting the bullshit and talking directly and honestly.
