Evil people in the gospels: Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist, Matthew 14:8.

The Gospel of Saint Matthew tells how the death of John the Baptist was. This prophet enlightened and instructed by the Lord announced the arrival of the Kingdom of God, the empire or dominion of the divine perfections, among men and that someone after him would baptize not with water but with salt and fire, referring in this sense to the attendance of the holy spirit.
But as in all the teachings of the gospels, these sacred texts explain that there are two paths, righteousness ("Do to others what you would have them do to you" Matthew 7:12) and sin; spiritual paths that respond to different ways of valuing others and perceiving reality with the mind. And in this way John the Baptist, just as many people followed him for the repentance of sins, also had powerful enemies, like Herod Antipas, tetrarch of Galilee and Perea.
And the gospel relates that John the Baptist criticized Herod in public because he desired Herodias, his brother's wife, and that is why Herod imprisoned him. Herod did not want to kill him, but since perversion is like a well because everything tends towards the bottom, the fate of John the Baptist was already made.
In this way the Gospel of Saint Matthew recounts the death of John the Baptist at the hands of evil people:
"On Herod's birthday the daughter of Herodias danced for the guests and pleased Herod so much that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked. Prompted by her mother, she said, ´Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.´ The king was distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he ordered that her request be granted and had John beheaded in the prison. His head was brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother. John's disciples came and took his body and buried it" Matthew 14:6-12.
