Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pelé, was a Brazilian professional soccer player who is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. He was born on October 23, 1940, in Três Corações, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Pelé began his professional career at the age of 15 with Santos FC and played for the club for 18 years. He was a member of the Brazilian national team that won the World Cup in 1958, 1962, and 1970, and he is the all-time leading goalscorer for Brazil, having scored 77 goals in 92 appearances.

In addition to his success on the soccer field, Pelé was also involved in various humanitarian and philanthropic endeavors throughout his career. He was named a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador in 1994 and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from the United States in 2013. Pelé was inducted into the International Football Hall of Fame in 1998. He passed away on December 29
