A worldwide experiment is taking place that may be providing evidence that on some level, consciousness interacts with the physical world. All about the Global Consciousness Project.
Over 30 years, the PEAR lab at Princeton University and the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) have been testing the theory that human consciousness can have an effect on real-world random and chaotic systems. Their findings seem to indicate that the effects are small, but measurable, when they monitor random number generators and look for higher than expected patterns in the randomness.
This lead to the creation of the Global Consciousness Project, who have placed "EGGs" in cities around the world to monitor pattern variances in random number generators and find correlations with world events.
