COMPASSION

1 Then Nahash the Ammonite came up and encamped against Jabesh Gilead; and all the men of Jabesh said to Nahash, “Make a covenant with us, and we will serve you.”
2 And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, “ON THIS CONDITION I WILL MAKE A COVENANT WITH YOU, THAT I MAY PUT OUT ALL YOUR RIGHT EYES, AND BRING REPROACH ON ALL ISRAEL."
3 Then the elders of Jabesh said to him, “Hold off for seven days, that we may send messengers to all the territory of Israel. And then, if there is no one to save us, we will come out to you.
6 THEN THE SPIRIT OF GOD CAME UPON SAUL when he heard the news, AND HIS ANGER WAS GREATLY AROUSED."

• Anger could be a sign of the problem which God wanted you to solve.

• What aggravated your anger could be a thing God wanted you to proffer a solution.
• The Spirit of God, the anointing that came on Saul, made him angry about the predicament of the people of Jabesh Gilead.
• Nahash the Amonite wanted to make a covenant, a treaty, with the people of Jabesh Gilead on the condition that he would put out all the right eyes of the people of the land—in order to bring reproach on all Israel. It was absurd and ridiculous! (1 Samuel 11:1-3 NKJV).

• What the leader or the king of Amonite wanted to do to the people of Jabesh Gilead was barbaric, annoying, demeaning, and unheard-of.

• How on earth would someone pull out the eyes of other people because he wanted to make a peace agreement or treaty with them.

• God will stir your heart towards the problem which He would want you to solve. The anointing of God on your life is meant to solve people's problems.

• You will be provoked when you heard about people's predicaments or see what they are passing through. One of the signs which the anointing comes with is, COMPASSION:
  "But when He [Jesus] saw the multitudes, HE WAS MOVED WITH COMPASSION FOR THEM, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd" (Matthew 9:36 NKJV).

• If you are anointed of God, you will be compassionate about people's problems. YOU would want to find solution to whatever predicament or problem which may have befallen the people—under your leadership.

• Compassion will move you, as a leader who is called by God, to be angry with the problems of the PEOPLE you are assigned to lead. The anointing on you arouses anger against any evil or predicament.

• A good leader, God ordained ONE for that matter, would not shy away from any problem or predicament ravaging his or her people.

• The anointing of God on the person assigned by Him would not allow him or her to rest without finding a solution to the problems of those whom they lead.

• A political leader may be in office and be using his or her position to oppress others, enrich themselves, amass wealth, and maltreat those whom they rule over:
  25 And He [Jesus] said to them, “THE KINGS OF THE GENTILES EXERCISE LORDSHIP OVER THEM, and those who exercise authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’ 26 BUT NOT SO AMONG YOU; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, LET HIM BE AS THE YOUNGER, AND HE WHO GOVERNS AS HE WHO SERVES. 27 For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or HE WHO SERVES? Is it not he who sits at the table? YET I [Jesus] AM AMONG YOU AS THE ONE WHO SERVES" (Luke 22:25-27 NKJV).

• Leadership in the Kingdom is about servant-hood—serving compassionately. Having the people whom you are leading in your heart.

• Apostle Paul shared his experiences, challenges, things he did pass through In his ministerial assignment: 2 Corinthians 11:23-27, but in verses 28 and 29 of the passage, he says:
  28 BESIDES the other things, WHAT COMES UPON ME DAILY: THE DEEP CONCERNS FOR ALL THE CHURCHES. 29 WHO IS WEAK THAT I AM NOT WEAK? Who is made to STUMBLE and I do not BURN with INDIGNATION?"
• A political leader may rule the people under his or her leadership with coercion and harshness, but a ministry leader could not—and should not.
• Paul demonstrated the type of heart which a godly leader, a Kingdom leader, should possess or have.
• Kingdom leadership is about denying the self, or relegating the self. It is about being selfless, and Paul did emphasize it in a number of his epistles and demonstrated it practically—in his own Life also:
  9 For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men condemned to death; FOR WE HAVE BEEN MADE A SPECTACLE TO THE WORLD, both to angels and to men. 10 WE ARE FOOLS FOR CHRIST'S SAKE, but you are wise in Christ! WE ARE WEAK, but you are strong! You are distinguished, BUT WE ARE DISHONORED! 11 To the present hour WE BOTH HUNGER AND THIRST, and WE ARE POORLY CLOTHED, AND BEATEN, AND HOMELESS. 12 And WE LABOUR, working with our own hands. BEING REVILED, we bless; BEING PERSECUTED, we endure; 13 BEING DEFAMED, we entreat. WE HAVE BEEN MADE AS THE FILTH OF THE WORLD, the offscouring of all things until now" (1 Corinthians 4:9-13 NKJV).

• Kingdom leadership is what Jesus did explain in Luke 22:25-27 and Mark 10:42-45. It is all about servant-hood and it comes with compassions.

• Compassion of the Holy Spirit on the inside of the leader moves, aggravates, and provokes the release of the anointing to proffer solution to whatever the problem at hand—in the lives of the people being led.
• You will do well to yield to the promptings of the Holy Spirit as a leader who is being led to get solutions to the problems of the people under his or her leadership.

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
