1.5 Million Personal Data Breached - Singapore History Largest Cyber Attack on SingHealth, a Government medical body.
If you are one of them, whom your personal data including name, address, date of birth, NRIC, race and gender, and especially those 160,000 whom medical records were also stolen, below are the precautions you need to take to protect yourself and your family, despite some monkeys telling you otherwise.
THIS PERSONAL DATA BREACHED IS VERY SERIOUS. IF THIS WOULD HAD HAPPENED IN UK OR EUROPE, TOP POLITICIAN’S HEAD WILL CERTAINLY ROLL AS THEY HAVE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR SUCH A MASSIVE CYBER MISTAKE.
Speaking likely in English, instead of mandarin, they could claim to be from the Singapore court, police unit, ICAC IRAS etc, telling you all your details and IC, claiming u commuted an offence. Send you a link and ask you to click according to them...... good luck to all your money....
Security expert are already coming out scenario of how our data will be used against us. Using Fear! Received any call, just ignore and remember the whole world already have your personal data.
Be Safe than Sorry !!
If anyone call you claimed I (or family members or friends) met an accident when overseas, stating all your personal details, call the ministry of foreign affairs for help instead of entertaining the caller or call /whatsapp the "injured" party.
With this massive breach, trust no one that claim anything especially when they can conveniently give you all your personal data details....
Please do not ever announce that you are overseas on your face book, twitter, instagram, etc. Once the syndicate knows about it, it mapped the data they have, bingo.
Please be reminded that the Government is EXEMPTED from the PDPA compliance, with penalties up to 1 million dollars in fine and up to 3 years in jail for any organisation that breached it, but no one in the government can be prosecuted for the same law they implemented to corporations, institutions, business and individuals.
This also means those whom has their personal data breached, they will now have to face the full prospects of potential scams not due to their own mistakes or carelessness but due to an entity that cannot be presecuted by law for the BIGGEST personal breached in our nation's history.
This is nothing to be proud of, trying to be a SMART NATION, but instead shameful we are actually getting nowhere smart nor smarter.
