RE: Giving Back to the steemit community by Helping steemians in need during the holidays!

in #payitfoward8 years ago (edited)

What the what. My significant other is in the middle of possibly loosing her job, has been cut all her hours for the past month. We have a 6 year old daughter that we made sure had an awesome Christmas. My partner not so much. I am selling comic books (see my Steemit blog) along with work in the food industry.

I have seen your posts before and do not know you had done this. I need $735 on the first for rent while my partner works through real mental disabilities (borderline personality disorder, if anyone has this and has a parterner, I feel for both of you so much). BPD does not make it easy to find nor keep a job, but we are trying. This is possibly the most 'real' and definitely most personal post I have made on Steemit. I expect nothing to come of it but have no issues throwing this in the air. We are just a family, we are not on the streets, but if anyone has that ability to give like that, it would be appreciated.

haha I smiled at your intro words "what the what"! I am sorry to hear you are having troubles. Thank you for having the courage to open up in a vulnerable way and share yourself so personally!

Honestly, I have never seen you comment on any of my blogs and nor have I seen any of your post up until now! Yes, I see you are selling your comic books, they look quite nice. Yes, I believe you may be right about him. But he has something that you could learn from; He is constantly sharing himself, all parts of his personal life and he is not afraid to ask for help (even multiple amount of times)!

It is because I have not advertised this, all of these user made post describing their problem and that they needed help! Because of the difficulty that some may have asking for help (as you personally know), I like to hear this calls and help them out in a way that I feel is best! I have sent you 5 SBD to help with your rent.

Since you need rent in the very near future I would be asking for help as much as possible! Have you made a post about this, if you haven't I would highly recommend that you make one (adding pictures of you and your family to the post will help)! For each one of your new comic book post that you make, link the post asking for help at the beginning of each new post you make. Telling people that donating or buying your comic will help the cause! After you have finished making your post asking for help, contact @merej99 and I am sure she would be willing to make a #payitfoward post for you (since this was originally her idea!

Thank you for making this "real" post but share your self more! People want to help, they just want to know what they are actually supporting with their money!

I have to use real life skills I have to earn money, however I did throw the real situation out there for others to help or not because it is involving more than just myself, it's my family, but I really expect nothing. I appreciate the 5 sbd and it will probably go to an egifter gift card to get real world items that are necessary for family. I prefer not to put my personal situations out there like that (more so than I have in these comments cemented in the blockchain). I do feel not positive in making a post asking for direct assistance from strangers while the month of rent can be helped, there will be next months rent ,there is therapy for partner for the illness issues will be there and really the best help I can have is just keep doing what I can with comic books and physical work, at least that is what I believe. My partner I believe will find work again soon, just seriously was wrong of job to cut to zero hours for this whole past month, and not fired either, I could rant and blog post just about that lol.

I will say though the idea itself of just making one post and having the links go to that, would be probably the only way I would pursue that idea, but I would have to take that to my family and ask if that is something they would even want to do. I appreciate the words and ideas, thank you very much, and thanks for the SBD too.

I understand what you are saying but what is "real life skills" to you? Connecting with other is a real life skill! That is why public speakers and public figure make so much money; They are able to connect with their audience well!

Even if it was just your self it would still be valid to ask for help! I think your judging to much on what situation does and doesn't deserve support. Your welcome, I am happy to help your family and you out with a donation; Others would be too if you would become willing to ask for help!

I completely understand you wanting to keep you life some what private and off of the blockchain! Yes, continue with you comic books and mention that the money will go to helping your family! Yeah that does suck about your partners hours being cut short, it is very common for jobs to take advantage of people like that!

Yes, I highly recommend the link post, yes always ask your family! Your welcome, I am happy to help! Just like I said before, ask and you shall receive!

I edited out the part of my comments regarding that other user whose posts I seen and mentioned, I do not feel that is positive of me to do when I do not know that persons history or situations, apologies to @shla-rafia if he or she had seen my previous comments, no negative intentions were there, but they were shitty comments and I am sorry.

That is very mature of you to see that you were not projecting the most positive aspect of yourself. I respect you for your edit and it makes me feel that you are even more deserving of what I have given you ^_^
