I don't know if Steempeak is an option for you. It has a word counter right on the page. It's been a great front end program. Easier to search, reply, bookmark and so much more.

The post you chose for your second entry, over all when you look at the other things they post, are wonderful. You just caught the little post is all. I know @thedarkhorse mentioned it, please don't think I am saying something to. I checked out a few other posts by them and their posts are usually longer.
