Pay It Forward Curation Contest - Week 6

This is my entry into week 6 of @darkhorse's Pay It Forward contest, where the aim of the game is to feature a post from three bloggers with a reputation score under 50 who you believe deserve more attention.

Murphydog

You know how they say when you fall in love your articulation skills go missing? This is why people resort to poetry. Which is an entirely sensible thing to do. In fact, if our politicians and bankers resorted to poetry maybe they wouldn't make so many short-sighted blunders.

In this post Murphy - who is Steemit's Very Best Boy - does a demonstration of boinging and sproinging in the snow, in order to keep in tip-top condition to keep dastardly squirrels at bay. Murphy and his hooman very kindly donate half of his earnings on Steemit to @TARC, to rescue "other doggos and cattos and animal frenz". Murphy has fallen on his feet, coming from a not-so-pleasant start in life to choosing the hooman who is most worthy of his lovings.

I have fallen instantly, and completely, in love with Muphydog on Steemit. Just like that, in an instant it has become like Samson by Regina Spektor or And It Stoned Me by Van Morrison in non-song form. My instant happy place ... even if the happies are sometimes sad. Which they are at the moment because Murphy's doggy sister, Bella, has recently crossed that ole bridge and Murphy's hooman is heartgrieved. Go and give her some love.

Kimberleylane

I first came across Kimberley a few weeks ago when we were both doing #freewrite posts (five minutes writing to a prompt). I think I may have discovered #fiftywords posts through her, which are microfiction stories of 50 words or under.

Kimberley's are the kind of stories I like - deep and misty and curious, so that sometimes you have to read them two or three times in order to know what's going on. This post is a freewrite on the prompt "parasol" and it evokes a layered complicated relationship with a little foreboding synchronicity from the universe for good measure.

Poetic writing is an antidote of sorts to the plethora of information writing we must read each day, abstracted, a little dull, and which points only to itself. Kimberkey's is the opposite of that. It doesn't need to be an uncomfortable experience reading stuff that's not instantly accessible. In fact, I tend to personally believe it's exactly what we're in need of.

Besmirched

Besmirched, aka Geoff Byrd, is a multitalented musician, songwriter, filmmaker and illustrator who's co-written with the llikes of John Oates, Jed Leiber, Kansas, Billy Morrison and Samantha Landrum. In [this post](https://steemit.com/music/@besmirched/the-phoenix) it's his song The Phoenix, a satisfyingly chunky postmodern rock tune. He says:

"I've been feel depressed of late and wanted to focus my creativity into an angsty rock song. At least it's a positive way to direct my energy. Here's what I came up with. No matter what door closes, another one opens. Failure is another word for opportunity. We all know this wisdom. It's common knowledge. But we forget. So this is my past self, reminding my future self, which is my present self, to rise from the ashes."
