While I do have over 1500 hours in total. I have also been playing on and off again for quite a number of years. With a few long breaks in between.
Betrayal league started on December 7, 2018. So everything I have is from that point onward.
I mostly only play in leagues and they last a couple of months at a time. After that while they do migrate characters, items, and progression over to standard. I never really play over there. It tends to be a dumping ground for league players so the economy is a bit of a mess.
That does mean every new league I’m starting over from scratch with nothing. So the game can take a lot longer if you are playing fresh every couple of months. Even more so if you choose then to also play in hardcore (if you die your character is moved to standard), or another mode they have Solo Self Found (no trading or grouping with players) that can even be played on Hardcore as well.
Many players tend to play intensely for the first month or two and then they either wait for a new league or just play a lot less after that. Next month they are going start talking about the next league which we don’t know any details about yet. It is expected to release sometime in early March.
I don’t always play this late into the league. I did find Betrayal somewhat boring/over complex so I took a month or longer break before jumping back into things. I mostly been enjoying this older content Delve that they decided to add to the core game. I think I played for a month when that league was active So a lot of stuff I never got to experience or enjoy.
