PASSIONATE VERSUS MULTIPOTENTIALITE

The question “what do you want to be when you grow up” is one of the most inspiring questions you can entertain, but generally a notion comes with it that you should do only one thing, find one thing you are passionate about and focus on it for the rest of your life. To some this is a very limited approach to life, so much so that it is uncomfortable.

Sure it is a great way to live life for many, but it’s not for everyone because not everyone is interested in only one thing. See, inevitably there will always be a balance in life due to the laws or principles that govern reality.
We exist in a dual-based reality, where there are polar extremes of absolutely everything and in this case it is represented by those who have one passion and those who have multiple passions.

Both are needed and absolutely vital for humanity to thrive and evolve as nature intended and it is embedded in the way of nature. But since childhood through the schooling system and various other media you are taught to find and choose one passion and devote your life to it. For some this approach sets them free, for others it really limits all that you are capable of becoming and all that you could achieve in life.

Multipotentialites are those who have multiple passions and often feel stuck or struggle answering the questions “what do you want to do” or “what do you do for a living?” When you are asked these questions, you cannot reply with 10 different things, because the majority of people view this as indecisive and it doesn’t gel with what they have been taught, so the response is usually not very favourable.

It is important to know that there is nothing wrong with either approach to life. Some of the best and most powerful teams come from a combination of those who have one passion and Multipotentialites.

Multipotentialites are in a prime position to innovate through idea synthesis by combining two or more fields and creating something new at the intersections; it is the birth place of Innovation and is the prime area to exploit your creativity in, and therefore it should be embraced completely.

Everything humanity has and does create plays a role in directing our evolution individually as well as a species, so it is fundamentally important that you own up to the potential of and embrace your make up, whatever it may be.
