Tausende Menschen haben in Moskau für ein freies Internet in Russland demonstriert. Mit Parolen wie "Hände weg vom Internet" und "Gegen einen neuen Eisernen Vorhang" versammelten sich die Demonstranten in der Innenstadt.
Wogegen protestieren sie?
Das neue Gesetz soll verhindern, dass russische Daten über ausländische Server laufen. Kritiker meinen, dadurch könne die Regierung von Präsident Putin nach Belieben kritische Seiten und Netzwerke, wie z.B. Telegram, sperren lassen und zensieren.

Thousands of people have protested for an independent internet in Moscow. Their slogans were "Get your hands off the internet" and "Against a new Iron Curtain"
What are they protesting against?
The bill shall avoid that Russian data is processed by foreign servers. While the government of president Putin claims that this will reduce reliance on foreign servers to increase security, the protesters criticize that the bill would create a machinery of censorship as it is in North Korea.
