FAMILY 家庭

My wife sent me an acronym, “FAMILY”, which stands for “Father And Mother I Love You”. It is a great joy for the parents, if each of their children indeed manifests what entailing in the acronym.

Certainly the indispensable ingredient of a family is love. And the father and mother quite naturally would express love towards their children. However, the children may not always reciprocate the love extended to them by their fathers and mothers.
When we are living in a world where it is said, “There is no free lunch”, it is imperative for each family to inculcate love.

Perhaps, the father and mother need to learn to express their love in a way that their children can feel it. The people may not remember what you have said. But quite certainly they can remember how you make them feel. So also the children need to feel that their father and mother do love them.

Beside the fathers and the mothers, the children today should also be enabled to become grateful so that they would not take for granted what they have received from their fathers and mothers.

In a world that individuality is emphasised, both the family and individuality are not mutually exclusive, but rather to complete one another for the building up of a more loving society.

妻子给我发了一个由”家庭”组成的一句话，即是”父亲和母亲我爱您们”。如果每位孩子都确实爰自己的父母，对于父母来说是無比的快乐。

当然，一个家庭不可缺少了爱，而父亲和母亲通常都会很自然地爱自己的孩子。然而，孩子却不一定会回应父母亲对他们的爱。当我们生活在一个被称为“没有免费午餐”的世界，每个家庭都有必要灌输爱。

也许，父母也需要学习以孩子能够感受到的方式来表达对他们的爱。一般来说，人们会不记得你说了什么，但他们会记住你对他们造成的感受，因此兒女也需要感受到自己的父母亲对他们的爱。

除了父亲和母亲，今天的孩子也应该知道感恩，这样他们就不会对于父母的爰视为理所当然的事情。

在一个强调个人的世界，家庭和个人不是相互排斥的，而是要互相配合以建立一个有更多爱的社会。
