Being ANTIFASCIST.
How hard is it to see the steady rush towards fascism?
Our president was elected with the help of private prison companies, companies which he then supported with government contracts.
The obvious graft and corruption of so called democracy is happening at the highest levels of power. It is considered to be good business practice.
Our elected officials chose to stand by while these attacks on the democratic process are carried out. They choose to pursue charges based on minor bribery instead of the gross abuses of power.
We have concentration camps for children where they are denied blankets, mattresses, tooth brushes, and outside time. The lights are kept on 24 hours a day, and the temperatures are kept low. This is torture under the banner of immigration policy. Yet it's a phone call that is the basis for impeachment.
The USA has abandoned the moral high ground. Our soldiers fight not for freedom, but for resource acquisition. Our homelands are divided while"toxic political discourse playing out in the streets" is leading to an inevitable civil war.
Our country has some rough road ahead. The people face extreme weather events without the luxury of a united populace. Instead while we attempt to adapt to the changing face of the planet we must also learn how to fight back against fascism and extremists hate.
Being ANTIFASCIST to me means holding space for marginalized people. Standing against organized hate groups that are mobilizing across the country, and directly confronting intolerance with courage, caution and unity.
