La civiltà deve alla materializzazione della figura geometrica del cerchio gran parte del suo progresso: pensiamo alla ruota.
L'invenzione della ruota è stata probabilmente la più importante nella storia dell'umanità. Sicuramente già qualche millennio prima di Cristo la ruota è servita a sostituire l'attrito volvente della trazione animale (e anche muscolare, dell'uomo) delle primitive slitte. Grazie alla ruota e la trasformazione dell'energia in movimento, si sono potuti sviluppare attrezzi e macchine di ogni genere.
Ed è inutile ricordare che si deve soprattutto alla ruota lo sviluppo dei mezzi di trasporto terrestre: la carrozza, la ferrovia, l'automobile.
La più semplice delle forme geometriche ha assunto sulle auto di oggi una rilevante importanza… tutto questo per ricordarmi che a metà novembre devo montare i pneumatici invernali…🚗
