All Dressed Up and Somewhere to Go

Last night we had the privilege of attending a celebration banquet for our friend’s ministry called The Alpha House.

The Alpha House is a Bible-based, men’s drug recovery home in Lorain County, Ohio. Next year they will be expanding West into surrounding counties spreading hope to people with addiction.

Brian and Breanna (right) have been our best friends for years and we are so proud of their dedication to the men in the house. They will soon be opening homes for women as well.

Sarrah and I brought baby Elias along with us. He was good most of the time and even fell asleep in my arms at one point.

Hearing the stories from the men who’s lives were dramatically changed was quite emotional. They got up in front of the room and shared their powerful testimonies.

During the awards portion of the evening, Brian got surprised by Breanna when she gave a talk in recognition of her husband.

Brian is such a strong, Godly leader wears his heart on his sleeve. It was an honor to attend this banquet as they have held one each year since they opened their doors to people in need.

At the end of the night, my older brother and I wanted to take a photo for my mom. It turned out being a series of serious photos instead of smiley ones.

Whenever my brother and I get together we tend to do funny things like this. Needless to say, we sent this photo to both our younger brother and to our mom.

The one to our younger brother got a caption that said something like “you better watch out, you better not cry”. The caption to my mom said “Merry Christmas from your 2 eldest sons.” See the difference? 😄
