NEWS.BITCOIN, citing a survey by multinational financial services corporation- Fidelity Investments- reported that 47% of institutional investors are in favour of including crypto investments as part of their portfolio.

Fidelity Investments wrote in its survey report:

"Institutional engagement is here… institutional investors are overwhelmingly favorable about the appealing characteristics of digital assets. Nearly seven in ten respondents cited certain characteristics of digital assets as appealing."

The keen interest of institutions in crypto assets is definitely heartening news for stakeholders in the blockchain and crypto industry, for it is a sign that the crypto market is starting to emerge from its marginalised status in the discourses among financial circles.

Hopefully, it will not be long before the investors who maintained a steadfast belief in the long-term viability of the blockchain and crypto industry throughout the brutal bear market for cryptocurrencies in 2018 reap outsized returns.

In the words of the late French philosopher Michel Foucault:

"We have to be there at the birth of ideas, the bursting outward of their force: not in books expressing them, but in events manifesting this force, in struggles carried on around ideas, for or against them."
