Other languages as electives? Why kami wala nyan! Imagine the advantages of learning and speaking those. One can work in those countries if fluent.
As elective, it's much better. But a waste if not taken. As for Korean, i would gladly take it and find work in Korea. @immarojas
Ganun talaga eh, ang hirap magsingit ng mga electives nung di pa tayo K-12. The regular subjects weren't getting enough air time, how much less electives. Anyway, SPFL was introduced in 2009 and K-12 started phasing in from 2011. The extra 2 years allowed for more thorough instruction, and it gave time for teaching elective courses, even tech voc courses. Obviously the curriculum is still a work in progress. Sana lang hindi maulit yung Makabayan fiasco noon sa pag-aayos nila ng curriculum ngayon.
