It's the biggest prize Apple has ever offered, and sign of how much iPhone's software vulnerabilities are worth on black market.
The bounty, which was announced by iPhone-maker at the annual Black Hat hacker convention in Las Vegas on Thursday, is the company’s biggest ever, in fact, it’s five times bigger than its previous largest payout.
Bug bounty programs, in which the companies invite hackers to find vulnerabilities in their systems, have become increasingly popular in recent years as a way of the preventing criminals from finding and exploiting those flaws first.
But Google hackers quietly shared the details with Apple, which fixed flaws before the the details were made public, which would allow hacker to take the advantage of them.
