Somehow, I doubt we will ever achieve Sentient or "Self-Aware" AI...
But I believe it is possible to "simulate" Self Awareness.

I've pondered this question. Certainly an AI can become totally self aware in all it's parts and data, but it will never have that illusive consciousness that humans have. Consciousness is a function of soul, in my opinion. And an AI just simply wont have that. Peace.

That is what I was going for, I have also thought a lot about this.
LIFE comes from Life, not sure how humans could lend Life to a
construct like AI.

Our self-awareness is simulated through self-importance.

Very interesting! I like this. And I notice how this and sites like steefun are using the link embed feature too. I'm about to go check out parley. Do you know if it displays only posts in the parley-ai tag?

I wish the author had used "distributed" rather than "federated" in that article. It's mentally jarring.

Author's tend to use fancy words to make themselves look competent. Doesn't matter if it makes less sense.

IMF uses "Distributed Ledger" terminology for their materials...
They are mimicking "blockchain" terminologies but with distinct differences in key terms. ;)

They both have it backwards. Federated is still technically correct (think informational siloes) but it has a bad connotation.

Did not say that IMF had it right, just that they are deceitful...

Referencing the article, I agree that decentralized AI will progress and out-pace the closed source efforts, if decentralized has a few key players. Likely it will, as WE outnumber THEM in all areas and arenas, LIBERTY breeds the Best Minds and Smartest People, for the most part. Just look how far and fast we've moved in just NINE YEARS, in the Crypto Era? :D
