As many as four women were killed Sunday in a deadly shooting at a home in the 7400 block of 173rd Street, south suburban Tinley Park according to local media reports as authorities have commenced an investigation into the incident.

According to Village Manager Pat Carr quoted in a local media report: "The victims were shot to death during a domestic incident at a home and the police arrived on the scene just before 11:30am."

There are little details available at the moment.

As the police arrived at the scene, the victims were dead.

Authorities say that they have taken a male into custody who will be investigated. A firearm was also recovered from the detained person.

"This was isolated to the home," Carr said adding that "the scene is secure and there is only one suspect at this time."

Officials noted that there is no threat to the public.

The residents were disturbed after hearing the news of the shooting. "My daughter knows them," a resident Charlotte Vaitkus told ABC7.

"She went to school with the oldest son, and she employed the twin sisters. She always talked about how they were all very intelligent, and they had very high goals in life."

The identities of the victims were not yet released by the authorities as they were processing the scene.

According to a neighbor, the house belonged to a family of seven: a husband, wife, their two adult sons and three grown daughters.

"That was Lane Bryant," Carr said. "I was president for that too. Brings back a lot of bad memories for a lot of us who’ve been around here, but we can assure everyone this is isolated to this incident. Scene is secure and no threat to the public."
