Musée d'Orsay in Paris

We mostly walked, not went to the stuffy museums, but the Orsay Museum was in the mandatory program of visiting Paris.

It occupies a former station building, located on the left coast of the Seine. It can rightly be called one of the most interesting and unusual museums of applied and art in the world.

The musée d'orsay in Paris stands out among other similar institutions famous exhibits, which at one time were selected by their different French galleries and even private collections. It is difficult to imagine how many of them are represented in the orsos. The collection of the Orsay Museum has more than four thousand of the greatest works of art.

The masterpieces of the musée d'orsay in Paris are located on three floors of the building. The exposition of the first consists of sculptures. But several rooms are reserved for the work of such famous artists as Camille Corot, Edward Manet, Henri Rousseau and others. The basement has a sculpture 1840-1875 years. The famous paintings of the Impressionists and the post of the Impressionists are exhibited on the top floor.

It is the third floor that attracts the greatest number of guests who are in a hurry to see live the paintings of the brilliant Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Edward Manet.


I was particularly attracted to the work of van Gogh in ORS. His painting "Starry night over the Rhone" can be called the pearl of the gallery. Before this picture of course there were many enthusiastic visitors and I was one of them. "Starry night" is not an ordinary landscape, but a picture of the world through the eyes of the artist.

The Museum also has access to the roof and an observation deck, which offers a wonderful view of the Seine and the city.
