Singing in the rain

At Daycare work today the School had a birthday. It was it's third which makes it one year older than I and for the celebrations, they had a huge star come in and play the guitar for us. Jimi Hendrix! Well, no, it was some guy I didn't know but, it was a lot fun. So everyone could listen together we all stood outside in the rain and sang songs. I got soaked! Mummy isn't happy.

She is now giving me the third degree at home asking all kinds of questions to see if she can get any information out of me but, I play silly and pretend I know nothing. She is asking me if I had a nap and of course I had a nap. I m telling her about all the other kids who had a nap too and perhaps it will make it seem like I was one of them. Ok, I had a little nap but, not much of one. I don't really like sleeping there with all those little drooling weirdos and the teachers watching me like I am a criminal.

Ooooh but, because of the party I did get to break some rules and have an ice cream! Not a proper ice cream, a homemade one but, we aren't meant to be able to take our own food into the daycare. The gatekeepers thought it would be too cruel and unusual a fate to have me watch other children eat ice cream so to protect themselves from feeling guilty, they made an exception. Just this once... Ha, they have been tested and found lacking. Now I need to push for them to break the next line of authority.

They are also feeling guilty because the catering company has made a few mistakes and brought the wrong food or... none at all. Twice Mummy has had to rush food over to the school otherwise I would starve and so, they have had to break another rule. I now have my own food in the fridge. Just in case.

The trick to training adults is to take every exception and use it as leverage to push the boundaries outward until it forces another exception. So on and so on until.... I am going to run that place soon.

Talking of running, the picture is of Mummy and I running home after daycare. They both picked me up today which is always exciting and it means I can jump between them holding one hand each. Good times.
