This was such a wonderful post and I can feel your love for your kids and how proud you were about them because I too am a mom. Your kids did a wonderful thing for you and that shows how nicely you and your husband are raising them. Compassion is something that parents need to nurture in their kids and you are doing a great job with that.

My son is very loving too. Right now, his way of being nice to us and giving us presents is to share his stickers with us. He puts them on our bedroom door and asks us to close our eyes so he can surprise us. That wonderful gesture melts my heart each time.
