Are kids really innocent?

in #parenting7 years ago

Who's the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? Asked the disciples and Jesus said 'children'. Every mythology holds children above all because they are considered pious souls. They are untouched by emotions like hatred and selfishness which are the core components of fights. They are considered innocent, but are today's kids actually that innocent?

Probably we need to think about it all over again. Computers and internet has not left the kids untouched. Kids are now addicted to handheld electronic devices that give them easy access to the internet. Even a kid as old as 1 1/2 years old can operate these devices with easy and play his/her favourite song from the suggestions on YouTube or other similar applications. As parents we definitely feel proud of what our kids are doing, but we actually need to worry about it.

Recently the news of a 4 year old raping his classmate was spine chilling. How can a 4 year old rape his fellow 4 year old classmate. My 6 year old can't even wash his ass all by himself after potty. The spine chilling incident happened here in the national capital of India. The boy allegedly unbuttoned his classmates pants and assaulted the girl sexually with his fingers and sharpened pencil.

The news is very shocking. Parents should monitor what their child sees and hears while at home or outside. Technology is killing innocent brains and turning them monstrous. So not let technology overpower you.

IMO this is our biggest sin ( if there is such a thing) in our world today.

this is amazing i appreciate it we jucst thought about you are great

Technology has it's benefits, but it also has disadvantages. Unfortunately small child mimic what they see. It's apart of their learning. I'd say children are still innocent. It's what they see and learn, that can take away from that innocence. "Monkey see, monkey do" as the old phrase goes. "Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil." Be mindful of what you expose your child to and they will remain innocent. Good topical blog!

Very true @jessicabennett . It's our responsibility as parents to monitor what our children see on the internet. Thanks for your appreciation. Keep following :)
