Parenting
Parenting is the ability to raise godly children or nurture children of value. It is about intentionality and it is about leading a life worthy of emulation by the children. Parents should be a worthy role model for their children. If your child doesn’t want to pattern his or her life after you as a parent, then you are not doing as great as a parent.
Most of the problem we have in this world is due to failed parenting. Most parents forget that these children are watching them. How do you tell a child not to lie when that child sees the parent scheme up lies? These children are so smart that they observe more than they are being told. Parenting involves a lot of sacrifices and a lot of effort too.
Most people just want to father a child or give birth to a child, thinking that is all there is to do but they are wrong. Parenting involves a whole lot more than just bringing them into the world. It involves a deliberate lifestyle and parents should never forget that they are models. We are their superheroes and we don’t necessarily have to wear cape.
As a parent, your presence is important in the life of your children. You need to be an ever-present figure in their lives so as to model them into what we want them to turn out to be. They are tender and they need guidance. They have their inherent stubbornness and without a parent figure, they might not be guided properly so as to turn out well.
Presence and purpose go together when it comes to parenting. It is because of the purpose that we need the presence. You need to be an ever-increasing figure in the life of your children. Most parents act like Ostrich. I read something interesting about the Ostrich. I learned they protect their eggs and even the male Ostrich takes turns with the female Ostrich to look after the eggs just to protect against predators but the moment they hatch them, they are cruel with their young ones. Most parents these days might not be cruel, but they act unbothered where the issue of their children are concerned.
